I don't think he ever released a studio version.
He never played it in LA, either (well, he played the slow, solo version last time 'round). This is the only time I've ever heard it with the band:

IMO, I think I'd prefer a somewhat slower performance of "Knock on Wood" and I agree with others here that the guitar he uses now doesn't sound too great on some of these tapping songs (it may have just been the sound system but when he played "Squaredance" last time he was in LA, it sounded like shit when he got to the lower, bass notes--the walls were vibrating and you could barely tell what was going on). |
